Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market is recognised as one of the best in Europe

Taking place from late November until just before Christmas each year, Winchester Cathedral’s Christmas Market is renowned for its bustling atmosphere, stunning location and handpicked high quality exhibitors, which attracts visitors from around the world each year who come to shop at the pretty wooden chalets, situated within the historic grounds.

The wooden chalets are inspired by traditional German Christmas Markets, and combined with the festive lighting, the sound of Christmas carols and the aroma of mulled wine and cinnamon drifting in the air, visitors will be transported into a festive setting to purchase their Christmas gifts and take in the atmosphere.

Here you can find over 100 chalets filled with high quality exhibitors, hand-picked for their interesting, unique and exclusive products.   The focus on British crafts, independent traders and artisan festive foods, as well as regular performances by local choirs.  This really does make this market stand out from the rest.

The Ice Rink is spectacularly situated in the centre of the Cathedral’s historic Inner Close and is surrounded by the Christmas Market.   The clear roof guarantees a rain-free skate whatever the weather and fun skate aids make it an ideal rink for adults and children alike.
