Southend-on-Sea is a resort town on the Thames Estuary in Essex, southeast England.

 

With seven miles of of beach and lots of attractions, there is plenty to fill your day here.

 

Southend has the longest pleasure pier in the world which is serviced by a small train and has fantastic views of the estuary.

 

Adventure Island is nearby and has a great selection of over 40 thrill rides and family friendly rides including roller coasters  and water slides.

 

The Cliff Lift, a century-old funicular, clings to the hillside and offers great coastal views.

 

Nature-lovers will enjoy the fantastic Sea-life Adventure aquarium, and the Museums and Art Galleries are perfect if you’re looking for a culture fix

 

For the shoppers amongst you, Southend-on-Sea is home to two shopping centres, Royals Shopping Centre and The Victoria Shopping Centre, plus a host of independent retailers and big name stores that offer everything from cards to clothes, toys to toiletries, bikes to bedding, and everything in between.

 

With plenty of cafes, restaurants, bars and leisure activities to choose from too, you can be sure that you’ll enjoy a great day by the seaside today.

Southend’s famous free entry theme park gets busier as the day goes on. If you’re planning to ride:
