Speakeasies were illegal bars that thrived during Prohibition, and the lively, upbeat music of jazz bands, including the Dixieland style from New Orleans, provided entertainment for the patrons.
Today we join Paul Higgs & his Storyville Steamers Dixie Jazz Band for a magical afternoon. A great band with a wonderful vocalist in Heather Simmonds capture that Dixieland vibe plus the sounds of Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald and Jelly Roll Morton.
Wear your dancing shoes. Superb musicianship – upbeat and great fun – follow the sousaphone player for a bit of New Orleans fun When The Saints Come Marching In. Dressing up is optional

The Tereza Joanne began life as a crane barge built in Eastern Europe shortly after World War II before eventually making her way to the UK. Following a complete refurbishment, she is now permanently moored at Albert Island, East London, offering a unique floating venue for a wide range of events.
